Safe Home-Based child care and support
This service is provided for female children who have been victim and vulnerable to sexual and other abuses and exploitation. Hence, children are Admitted and provided with integrated supports like food, shelter, clothe, education, health care, counseling, handcraft and vocational skill training. Family tracing and reunification of children with their family as well as post reunification follow up is carried out.
School Based Child Care and Protection (SBCCP)
OPRIFS Facilitates education for school age children and child domestic workers who do not access formal education through Alternative Basic Education(ABE) and those who are in the formal schooling but likely to drop out. OPRIFS provides educational and hygienic material support for school girls and capacity building training for schools in the area of Para-counseling, Positive approach to discipline children, Child Right and Convention on child rights. Other inputs are also provided for school libraries and laboratories. OPRIFS also works with school clubs like gender, students counsel and social service clubs.
Community Based Child Care and Protection (CBCCP)
This is other program component aimed at increasing community awareness and participation in the process of community child care and protection efforts. Under this program, the community is expected to play a key role in protecting vulnerable and abused children, women and girls from different forms of violence and cruel acts. Strengthening of the Child Right Convention (CRC) committee in targeted Woredas through training, community conversation and interface meetings between CDWs and Employers. OPRIFS also works with Woreda Women Children and Social Affair Offices to combat illegal child trafficking and unsafe migration issues. Community based emergency shelter is a service for children through volunteer mothers with in the community where children in an immediate need will get immediate service in the community.
Advocacy
OPRIFS carry out advocacy work to protect the rights of children, women and girls in its program components. It undertakes the following Advocacy and Lobbying activities: • Work on Media to promote safety and protection of children and women from abuse and exploitation, • Enhance the community understanding on the rights of children, girls and women. • Improvement of the current sluggish court/legal process and verdict
Protecting Child Domestic Workers (CDWs) from Modern Slavery
• Provide awareness to the community in general and employers in particular on Anti-modern slavery and safe and decent workplace. • Community conversation on the right of child domestic workers (CDW) • Interface meeting between CDW and employers. • Provision of shelter service for abused child domestic workers. • Provide of ABE service for CDWs who have not accessed education before through providing scholastic and hygienic material support.
